KZN community threatens land invasion

VILLAGERS at Keates Drift in KwaZulu-Natal Province have threatened to invade nearby farms if the government did not allocate them new land amid shortages of farming space and grazing pastures.

The villagers claimed the population growth was outgrowing available land.

Vukani Khumalo, a local villager, said his livestock was struggling as land was not readily available.

“If the government does not allocate us new land, very soon, our villagers will invade some farms that we think are not fully utilised,” Khumalo said.
