50 000+ Land Beneficiaries Are Women

The government redistributed 82 million hectares of white-owned agricultural land in South Africa between 1994 and March 2015, and more than 50 000 of the beneficiaries are women. 

The ANC’s National General Council 2015 discussions documents on rural development and land reform revealed that 45 555 995 hectares under land redistribution, through 5 184 projects, have benefited 235 609 beneficiaries. 

Of these, 50 882 are women, 33 108 are youth and 678 are people living with disabilities.
