China’s Goldwind gets 120-MW wind job in S Africa

Chinese wind turbine maker Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology (HKG:2208) Wednesday said it will equip and construct the 120-MW Golden Valley wind park in South Africa under a deal with project developer BioTherm Energy. 

The contract was signed with the domestic independent power producer (IPP) on April 16. As part of the deal, Goldwind will deliver 48 units of 2.5-MW direct-drive permanent magnetic wind turbines and will serve as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor. 

The wind park will be located in Eastern Cape.
