Laws governing land ownership a major concern: Motlanthe
Former President Kgalema Motlanthe says South African laws governing land ownership are a major concern to some South Africans.
He was speaking in his capacity as the Chairperson of the High Level Panel on the assessment of the country’s key legislation.
Motlanthe and his delegation are visiting Mbombela in Mpumalanga where a two-day public hearing is being held about the effectiveness of key laws enacted since 1994.
The focus is on laws relating to poverty, unemployment, inequality, equitable distribution of wealth, land reform and rural development and nation building.
The panel has also visited other provinces.
