Scores lodge land claims

SCORES of people from communities all over Hibiscus Coast Municipality lined up outside Port Shepstone Civic Centre to lodge land claims in the mobile land-claims commission lodgement bus that was made available for three days – from 16 to 19 September.

A land-claim officer said on the first day that more than 100 people came to register their claims.
“The people were given an option to register or lodge claims as an individual or as a community,” he said.
The mobile office, which is going around the province, enables people who have not registered their claims to do so before the 30 July, 2019 cut-off period.
